Given the strategic national situation, the Show Committee of Tynedale Agricultural Society Ltd - who organise the Northumberland County Show - have reluctantly decided to cancel the show that was planned to take place on 25th May 2020.
This is sad, but it seems clear the spread of the Coronavirus at large public gatherings poses a significant risk to health and we fully comply with the government’s guidance to defeat this disease.
To avoid any uncertainty or speculation, we have taken the decision not to hold the event later in the year.
It has never been so important to find ways to support those in agriculture, food production and logistics and we offer our deep respect and gratitude to so many of our friends and partners involved in these essential industries at this time.
The situation may look difficult and uncertain at the moment, but history proves that the UK – and the North East in particular – have always been at our very best when faced with challenging odds.
We would like to thank all of our stakeholders who have assisted us this year and are humbled by their generous support and understanding. We will be in touch with traders, exhibitors, sponsors and helpers over the next fortnight to discuss the next steps. Thank you for your patience and continued support; we will work through this together, as always.
It is an honour to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our amazing farmers and we look forward to welcoming you back to what will be a spectacular event on BH Monday 31st May 2021.
We hope you all stay safe and well at this anxious time.
From the 70 Committee Members of the Northumberland County Show.
