Pony Club Challenge
New for 2024, we are holding a pony club games challenge which always draws a big crowd to the County Show main arena. Riders showing excellent horsemanship at speed The teams of riders compete in relay over a course of games & jumps. They work against the clock with shear determination and a great show of skill.
Even if you know nothing about horses or riding this fun and frantic action will keep you entertained and show real competitive spirit. You can even choose a team to follow!
Children’s School Art Competition – In the Creative North marquee, a full display of ‘the great outdoors’ by over 10 local schools, this will kindly be judged by local artist, Alex Clark.
Egg Show – Sadly we won’t be having a poultry show this year but hope this will return in 2025, we will have an egg show. To enter, please find entry form below. Kindly sponsored by Egger.
Farrier Competition
The Farrier competition was launched in 2018 and is back by popular demand our 2024 competition will be even bigger and better. It will provided a fantastic display of skill and strength, with plenty of hot metal and sparks thrown in!
The competition takes place by the Countryside Bar, near the Cattle Marquee and offers three classes; Class 1 Open Cob Shoeing, Class 2 Apprentice Shoemaking and Eagle Eye open to all, enter on the day.
Children’s Art Competition
The Children’s Art Competition theme this year is ‘The Great Outdoors’
It is open individuals as well as to school groups, it always makes a colourful showpiece of creative talent.
Its broad brief aims to give teachers and carers the flexibility to produce a range of work that could link to the curriculum, and be adapted to involve several subjects.
