the show committee

The Northumberland County Show is run by it’s dedicated Committee listed below, who are all volunteers, taking on their sections and roles with a lot of hard work, passion and enthusiasm. On Show Day they muster friends, family and any other willing volunteers to make the show the great success that it is today.

We always welcome new volunteers, so if you’d like to become part of this fantastic team of people (no previous experience necessary) just contact us in the office and we’ll make sure you have a great time working with us.

Kerry Robson

Show Secretary

Kerry joined the show in 2016 after a career as a Farm Manager, Rural Development Officer, Finance Manager and various other agricultural based positions.

Organising many charity events, Kerry’s skills have been very useful in her role as main organiser. Having a keen interest in farming and agriculture, Kerry has a good understanding of the practices and procedures needed to understand the farming communities involved with the show.

Kerry organises the whole show with the support from her Management, Committee and office team. She oversees the day to day running of the show including the co-ordination of all Livestock sections, Trade Stands, Entertainment & Attractions, responsibility of the accounts, customer service, Membership for Tynedale Agricultural Society and all other elements of the show.

Ellie Robson

Show Apprentice

Ellie is our newest member of the team, joining us in September 2023 on a Customer Service apprenticeship from Kirkley Hall College following the completion of her A levels.

Ellie’s main passion is livestock, having her own small flock of sheep, Kune Kune Pigs and various other animals at home. Her main focus is in animal husbandry and agriculture.

She will be the primary contact for our Children’s Art Competition and will be in the office to support Kerry and the rest of the team.

Anthony Crozier

Site Manager

Having served on the committee for many years, including terms as President and Chairman, Anthony knows the show and its people inside out. As a local farmer he understands the needs of the livestock exhibitors, as well as how to improve and maintain the land and buildings the show uses at the Bywell site.

Anthony ensures that the show field map of arenas, marquees, trade stands and facilities actually works in practice and is the first point of contact for facilities infrastructure, groundwork contractors, electrical supply and other utilities.

Sue Thompson

Marketing & PR

Sue co-ordinates the Show’s annual marketing budget; planning media, liaising with press, and writing articles for both the show’s own literature, digital marketing and for other local publications.

She is the primary contact for Principal Partners, and is always available to help them get the most from their investment in the show.

Sue enjoys encouraging young people to learn more about agriculture and food production through the great events and attractions at the Northumberland County Show.
